The intention of this blog is both to free myself from the unscrupulous profiteering of the current major social media platforms and to build my own space where I can create, share, and support our community.
To understand me, you have to understand what brought me here. I was a professional marketer working for a nonprofit hospital sitting in a tiny office feeling like key strokes and mouse clicks just weren’t fulfilling enough anymore. I had checked all the boxes of responsible adulthood by getting my masters in business and marketing, serving my country in both the military and AmeriCorps, and loving my family with all my heart, but there was a sense that I was still not fulfilling a greater purpose.
So I followed my instincts, took the risk, and leaned into change. With the support of my loving wife and kids, I began the transition to farmer marketer consultant. I have taken all of my existing skills learned over years of diverse opportunities, and put them to work on two outcomes: growing nutrient-dense food to help feed people (which you can read all about on this blog) and helping farmers improve their marketing strategies and tactics.
If you are a farmer, of any scale, in need of marketing support to help improve the business side of your production, email me at info@makingfood.blog for more information.
Welcome aboard!
